Old Master Drawings and Prints

Old master drawings is an exciting field in which discoveries can still be made, and Koller's auctions have had their share of record prices. A portrait of a man thought to be by the circle of Andrea del Sarto turned out to be attributed to the great master, and sold for CHF 718 000 / EUR 445 000 in March 2007, the highest price ever paid for an old master drawing in a Swiss auction. Other successes include an 18th-century depiction of a young man reading by G. B. Piazzetta, sold for CHF 174 000 / EUR 108 000, and a beautiful study by Parmagianino that changed hands for CHF 156 000 / EUR 97 000.
