ENAMEL AND PEARL POCKET WATCH, DUPLEX, FOR THE CHINESE MARKET, BRUNNER, ca. 1830. Yellow gold. Rare pocket watch with extremely fine enamelled scene, for the Chinese market. Case No. 1510, edge decorated with Oriental pearls on both sides, pendant decorated with Oriental pearls. The back with a polychrome enamelled scene in Italy: a mandolin player with a noblewoman, possibly Queen Hortense, followed by a bearded gentleman and a young page with a crown. Enamelled dial with Roman numerals, gold-coloured hands, central second, sprung dust cover. Lever movement finely engraved with tendrils and fire-gilded, with flat spring, monometallic balance, floating barrel, duplex escapement, 1 screw-down chaton, diamond capstone, Brunner Tien Tsin, La Chaux de Fonds No. 1510. Two winding keys. D 59 mm.
