So-called "SHAKU DOKEI" CLOCK, Japan ca. 1840.
Elm. Rectangular case, with later, elongated brass dial, featuring the hours in Roman numerals. Skeletonized and engraved brass movement with baluster pillars, short front pendulum. Cover, glazed on three sides. Striking mechanism, striking the hour on bell. The bottom of the case, with a small drawer.
