Described as "an excellent, thoroughly characteristic and well-preserved work of Peter Paul Rubens, dating from the period about 1624 -1625".–M. T. Friedländer, 31.7. 1947. In his opinion, a well-preserved work by Rubens.–Dr. A. Martin de Wild, 21. 2. 1968. "Having seen the (previous) certificates, stating that it must be considered to be from the hand of P. P. Rubens, I have had no hesitation to accept this attribution".
