PAIR OF BUREAU CABINETS,

Baroque, Lombardy ca. 1740.
Walnut and burlwood, in veneer and inlaid with reserves. Inclined, hinged writing surface. Front with 3 drawers. Inner compartment with 4 drawers arranged in 2 rows. Bronze mounts and sabots. Restored, requires some restoration.
128x59x(open 94)x120 cm.

Provenance:
- from a private collection, Ticino.

An almost identical bureau cabinet is depicted in: M. Cera, Il mobile italiano, Milan 1983; p. 116 (Ill. 180). A comparable pair from the Château de Vincy was sold at our March 2007 auction (Lot No. 1064).
