LARGE MADONNA ON A THRONE,
Romanesque, Italy, 14th century.
Carved chestnut, verso hollowed, and painted. Mary holding the Christ Child on her lap. In part, with remains of old paintwork, strongly rubbed. Wormholes. The right arm and the left hand of the child, missing.
