BUREAU PLAT

Louis XV, France ca. 1740/50.
Rosewood and tulipwood, inlaid in reserves framed by fillets. Rectangular top, edged in brass, with brown, embossed leather lining; on curved legs with bronze sabots. Front with three drawers, the center drawer slightly recessed. Same but sham arrangement on verso. Gilt bronze mounts designed as rocailles, leaves and blossoms, revenue stamp "C couronné". 3 keys. Requires some restoration.
146 × 77 × 77.5 cm.
