PENDULE "AUX CERCLES TOURNANTS" (TEMPLE DE L'AMOUR),

Louis XVI, Paris ca. 1780. The movement signed Barbe à Paris. Joseph Barbe, maître 1777.
White marble and gilt bronze. The upper part featuring a skeleton movement, the top with rotating rings with white enamel cartouches featuring the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals. Opulently decorated. Movement with anchor escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell.
D 18 cm, H 40 cm.

Requires some restoration, movement needs servicing. Central figure of Cupid, missing. Lower gallery, probably replaced.
