A QUARZ SNUFF BOX WITH GOLD MOUNT

Probably Dresden, 19th century.
White quartz on all sides with diamond incised decoration comprised of overlapping arcs. The applications in the style of the snuff boxes by F. L. Hoffmann with applied insects and caterpillar comprised of various agates, coloured glass and a diamond on the tip of the worm, the mount in rose gold.
6 x 8.5 x 3.4 cm.

Cracks, one corner chipped.

Provenance:
- Sale Sotheby's Geneva, 16.5.1995, Lot 75.
- With Kunsthandel Ars Domi, Zurich.
- Swiss private collection.
