BOULLE CLOCK ON PLINTH,

Régence, Paris ca. 1720. The movement and dial signed CH. LE ROY À PARIS. Charles Le Roy, maître 1733.
Curved wooden case with Boulle and Contre-Boulle marquetry, decorated with painted tortoiseshell, brass, horn and mother-of-pearl. Opulent bronze mounts designed as dolphins, espagnolettes, mascaron, angel heads, etc., the top featuring a putto. Bronze dial with white enamel cartouches. Movement with verge escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell. Plinth from the same time period, but with different colors in the marquetry, possibly replaced. Case requires some restoration.
49 x 24 x 124 cm.
