THREE FAIENCE JUGS IN THE SHAPE OF PARROTS, WITH HANDLES,

Glienitz, ca. 1770.
Each bird sitting on a tree stump and applied with a handle in the shape of a branch. Decorated in bright colors, green, yellow and ocher. Each head modeled separately as a removable lid. No mark.
H 25.5 cm. Repairs. The beak of one of the birds is damaged, and needs to be repaired.

This type of jug exists in several variants, not only from the Glienitz Manufactory founded in 1752, but also from nearby Prószków, see Hugo Morley Fletcher, The Pflueger Collection, London 1993.
