ENAMEL, GEMSET AND GOLD PENDANT, Marocco, Fez, late 18th century.

Tazra. Circular, open work, polychrome enamelled pendant, centering upon one emerald cabochon within a ruby surround and six ruby cabochons. On the reverse, the central panel hinged to reveal a compartment, suspended on multiple seed-pearl strands linked at intervals by round, fluted gold and enamelled cylindrical beads, and cord necklace. Pendant ca. 7 cm Ø.
