RUBY, GEMSET AND ENAMEL GOLD PENDANT, Morocco, Fez, late 18th century.

Tazra. Of circular form, enamelled and of pierced floral design, the central ruby set in a band of inset small stones, surrounded by six smaller gemset oval panels. The reverse similarly enamelled, the central panel hinged to reveal a compartment. Suspended on multiple seed-pearl strands with cord. Pendant ca. 7 cm Ø.
