BOULLE CLOCK ON BASE,

Louis XV, Berne ca. 1750.
Carved wooden case, with applied brown-tinted tortoiseshell and inlaid with brass flowering branches and tendrils, in part engraved. Opulent bronze mounts, designed as scrolls, rocailles and flowers. Bronze dial with white enamel cartouches. Bernese movement with anchor escapement, striking the 3/4-hour on two bells.
43 x 22 x 112 cm.

Central enamel cartouche, cracked and chipped. Minor losses to the marquetry. Engraving, rubbed. Repetition mechanism, removed.
