BEAKER WITH "HAUSMALER" CHINOISERIE DECORATION

Meissen, ca. 1722-25.
The paintwork probably from the same time period, featuring a circumferential Chinese garden scene. The inside and edges, painted in iron red, the base with gilt edge. No mark.
H 7.7 cm.

Hairline crack, minor chip on the edge.

Provenance:
- Collection Dr. Siegfried Ducret, Zurich.
- By succession, to Rosmarie Schmidt-Ducret, Binningen, estate.

Formerly, in the Collection Giuseppe Rossi (Sotheby's London, 10 March 1999, Lot No. 318); a similarly painted cylindrical jug with an identical Chinese figure and an undetermined attribution to a painter can be found in Meissen or in Du Paquier.
