CHANDELIER, SO-CALLED "LEUCHTERWEIBCHEN"

Historicism, Basel, 19th century.
Carved wood and metal, designed as a female bust wearing Renaissance apparel, featuring two fish tails and a set of antlers. The woman is holding two coat-of-arms cartouches, one of which features the Vischer family's coat of arms. Round chandelier with five light arms. Suspended from three metal rods. Formerly operated with gaseous fuel.
