Book of Hours. Latin script on vellum. With 13 large miniatures with floral border on three sides, also numerous major initials with border as well as 8 figural initials with floral borders. Numerous initials over several lines. All in gold and colour.

West Flanders, ca. 1490. 18.8 x 13.8 cm. [1] w. f., [135] ff. Written area 11.5 × 7.5 cm. 18 lines. Comprising an old vellum binding and restored wooden board (Remboitage) with 2 restored brass clasps and ornamental embossing, gilt edge (spine slightly browned, minimal staining, the front hinge slightly rubbed).

Complete Book of Hours of sturdy quality. Includes the following: 7v.: Crucifixion. - 13v.: Pentecost. - 8v.: The Madonna and Child. - 35v.: Annunciation. - 50v.: The Visitation. - 59v.: The Birth of Christ. - 63v.: The Annunciation to the Shepherds. - 67v.: The Adoration of the Magi. - 71v.: Presentation in the Temple. - 75v.: The Slaughter of the Innocents. -81v.: The Flight into Egypt. - 86v.: King David. - 109v.: Mourner's prayer. - Calendar with Saints of the Region (Adelgundis, Juliana von Nikomedia, Walburga). - Carefully cleaned, occasional small areas of rubbing or minimal wear in picture area.
