STANDING CROSS WITH FINE MICRO-CARVING
Probably Greek, probably 17th/18th century.
Wood, carved with numerous scenes from the Life of Christ. Tower-shaped base. The cross crowned by a pelican.
H 46 cm.
Some losses. Upper section with pelican significantly restored.
Provenance: Private collection, Suisse romande, from the Château de Courtaney à Avry, Fribourg.
