A PAIR OF CANDELABRA "L'AMOUR VAINQUEUR" (A LOVE VANQUISHED)
Empire France, beginning of the 19th century.
Gilt bronze with a dark patina. Winged angels of victory bearing palm fronds, standing on a sphere and holding a central torch with flame and three curved, spiral-shaped laurel light branches with round palmette drip pans and cylindrical nozzles. On a relief-decorated cylindrical base with a square plinth.
H 60 cm, W 20 cm.
Gilding rubbed. One palm frond replaced.
