Oil on unlined canvas, with the original stretcher. Inscribed verso: "Vero Ritratto dell'Ill[ustrissi]mo Sign[ore] Vito [...] fatto nell’età di anni 2 da me / Cav. Giuseppe Ceccarini da Fano – L’anno 1768." The paint surface with a fine network of craquelure. With localised colour loss in the skin areas. Light stretcher marks as well as light colour abrasions along the edges. Under UV light: minimal retouching visible on the figure as well as a small amount of retouching along the edges. The varnish fluoresces an irregular greenish colour. Dimensions with frame: 34.7 × 43.4 cm.
