RARE MEISSEN BOWL FROM THE JAPANESE PALACE,Meissen, ca. 1730. Johanneum number 'N=255w'. Painted in the Kakiemon style with iron-red chrysanthemums and yellow peony blossoms. Enamel-blue swords with curved guards, incised and blackened Johanneum No. 'N=255w', embosser sign K incised. D 20.5 cm, H 10 cm. Provenance: - Antiquitätenhandel Dresden, up until 1974. - from a Dresden private collection up until 1993. - from a Zurich private collection.
