PAINTED MANTEL CLOCK WITH AUTOMATION AND MUSICAL WORK,

George III, the dial signed MARKWICK MARKHAM BORRELL LONDON (watch company in London, active between 1793 and ca. 1826), the replaced movement stamped PLANCHON PARIS (Mathieu Planchon, active in the second half of the 19th century), England, ca. 1800/20.
Wood painted with colourful flowers, gilt bronze and cut glass. Enamel dial with Turkish numerals between 2 striking disks and music disks, and automation with movable boats and water game as well as selection disk for the pieces of music. Replaced movement with anchor escapement striking the 4/4-hours on a carillon with 3 bells and a gong. Replaced musical work with drum, can be activated on request. Requires servicing.
