PEARL AND DIAMOND NECKLACE, probably FROMENT MEURICE, ca. 1880.

Silver and pink gold.
The middle line set with 55 graduated button–shaped natural pearls, of ca. 3,6 x 6,6 mm Ø, flanked by 2 lines of graduated circular–cut diamonds, weighing ca. 16.00 ct. L ca. 41 cm.

3 Pearls orally tested by GGTL, August 2015. With box, signed Froment-Meurice, Orfèvre, Joailler, Bijoutier de la ville de Paris, 372. Rue St. Honoré. Emile was the son of the renowned François-Désiré Froment-Meurice, they exhibited in a number of International Exhibitions and worked in Renaissance, Gothic Revival and Romantic style. On the back label with inscription: Madame de Mandiargues. She was the wife of the writer and poet André Pieyre de Mandiargues and frequented some of the most important artists and writers of the twentieth century, like Henri Cartier-Bresson and André Breton.
