COMMODE "A LA GRECQUE",

Transition, signed G. DESTER (Godefroy Dester, maître 1774), Paris ca. 1775.
Tulipwood, rosewood and partly tinted precious woods in veneer and finely inlaid "à la Reine" with rosettes, blossoms, lozenge pattern, and decorative frieze. Front with 2 sans-traverse drawers. Fine, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and sabots, in part replaced. Shaped "Brèche d'Alep" marble top. Restorations in the veneer.
125.5x60x90.5 cm.
