Morassi datiert dieses Gemälde um 1770-80, während Dario Succi es anhand der Farbigkeit und stilistischen Qualität in das Spätwerk Francesco Guardis um 1785 platziert. Succi hebt ferner in seinem Gutachten hervor, dass er nach Begutachtung des Originals nun seine ursprüngliche Zuschreibung an Giacomo Guardi widerlegt (siehe Literatur) und es als ein charakteristisches Werk Francesco Guardis identifiziert.
