copper engraving On hand-made paper with watermark. Oxen head with J.Z. with double staff and seven part flower (fragmented, Meder 70, from 1514 to 1516).
15.9 x 10.8 cm.

- Meder 33 a (of c); Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum 63 a (of c). - Brilliant, deep black, even and distinct early impression on the paper stipulated by Meder for the early impressions. Mostly with fine to very fine margin around the image; on the upper margin the plate edge is partly visible. Two small ink flecks, verso tiny remains of old mount. Overall in prime, fresh condition. Very rare in this condition. Provenance: - Collection of J.H.Hawkins (um 1800 - 1870/80), London, Lugt 1471 - Outline of a further collector's stamp - unidentified - Private collection, Switzerland.
