A SILVER-INLAID BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI. West Tibet, 14th c., height 17.3 cm. Right hand and closure plate lost. Some damage.

Bronze, die Augen sind in Silber eingelegt. Der Buddha sitzt auf einem grossblättrigen doppelten Lotosthron, die rechte Hand ist verloren, die Linke in eleganter dhyana-mudra stützt sich auf der Fusssohle ab. Das jugendlich wirkende Gesicht wird von Noppenlocken eingerahmt, ein knospenförmiges Juwel bekrönt die Frisur. Verschlussplatte verloren. Etwas besch.

German private collection, purchased in India between 1962 and 1982.
