INKUNABELN - Biblia latina -

[Old Testament]. With more than 130 plume initials with floral tendrils in red, blue and green on six to eight lines. Throughout rubricated.
Nuremberg, Anton Koberger, 16th November 1475. Folio. [396] leaves. Printed in two columns, gotique types. 48 lines. Leaf size 37.8 x 26.5 cm; type are 28 x 20 cm. Red maroquin binding from the 18th century (cover a little rubbed and scratched, corners bumped, extrimities of spine with wormholes and smal missings).

GW 4218 - Hain/C. 3056 - Goff B 543 - Pellechet 2286 - Ohly-Sack 511 - Madsen T10 - BSB-Ink B-420 - Hase, Koberger 15. - Kobergers first latin bible, our copy without the New Testament. - First and last leaf old restored, backed defects to margins, first 10 leaves with old underlaid on the lower outer margin. Sometimes finger stains, the coloring of the initals partly oxidated. - All in all in very good condition. Nice wide printing. - Provenance: Exlibris Ampleforth Abbey Library & John Cotrell Powell (1798-1834).
