Catalogue, source et correspondance, Doornspijk 2008, Kat. Nr. 364, Abb. 15. Elisabeth Seippel wurde 1712 in Genf geboren, als Nachfahre des Genueser Bankiers Guillaume Bourguet. Sie heiratete am 18.6.1738 Elie Seippel (1709-1760), deren Sohn Antoine-Albert Seippel (1741-) später dem Schmuckgeschäft "Boissier, Gosse et Bourguet" beitrat. Gemäss der Überlieferung entstand das Bildnis in Genf, wo sich die Familie Seippel niedergelassen hatte. Die Porträtierte trägt ein weisses Kleid, das mit rosaroten Marabu-Federn gesäumt ist.
