Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Felix, Komponist (1809-1847).

Eigenhändiger Brief in englischer Sprache, mit Unterschrift.
Denmark Hill Camberwell, 16. Juni 1842. 8°. 2 S. auf Doppelblatt (eigenh. Adresse verso; kl.

You know how fully I concur in the view which you take of musical matters and more particularly of Beethovens last wonderful works, as expressed in your kind letter of the 14th. I think, if any this way must lead to an improvement of the taste of the public as well as the professors a[nd] every lover of music must feel interested in such an undertaking. I need not tell you that I shall be most happy to play one of those beautiful Sonata's; but I am sorry to say I cannot do so before Sunday week, because I accepted of an engagement for next Sunday which will not allow me to assist to your meeting on that morning."
