Dr. Fred G. Meijer, who examined the painting in the original in 1995 on the occasion of an auction, and identified it as a work by Philip van Kouwenbergh, has repeated his confirmation of the authenticity of this work in writing. The signature of J. van Huysum was added later and based on parts of the original monogram PHK.
