IMPORTANT ROYAL COMMODE "A FLEURS",

French Regency, by A.R. GAUDREAUX (Antoine Robert Gaudreaux, maître 1708), Paris ca. 1745/49.
Tulipwood and purpleheart, in veneer and inlaid with flowers, leaves and decorative frieze all-around. Front with 2 sans-traverse drawers. Opulent, replaced gilt bronze mounts and sabots, designed as mascarons, foliage and decorative frieze. Shaped "Brèche d'Alep" marble top. Verso with brand stamp of the GARDE MEUBLE DE LA COURONNE and Inventory No. 1588. Some restorations and alterations to the veneer.
132x64x84 cm.

- delivered by A.R. Gaudreaux in 1749 for the daughters of Louis XV, Mesdames, in the Dining Hall of the Palace of Versailles.
