Horae B.M.V. -

Latin manuscript on parchement. With 13 (of originally 20) miniatures, 2 bordures and lots of gilt and colored initials.
Eastern France [Besançon?], around 1470. 10,5 x 8 cm. 217 [instead of 224?] leaves. Leather binding around 1550 with gilt spine and covers, gilt edges (spine defective, closures lacking, a little rubbed. In a modern cloth cassette.

Smal size book of hour in black bastarda with red captions, mostly 14 lines. - A number of saints in the calender and the litany initiates that the manuscript was made in Besançon: Anatol, Antidius, Claudius, Donatus, Ferreolus, Gengulphus, Germanus, Nicetius and Prothadius. - 7 leaves lacking, each with a miniature, namely the title to the hours of the holy Mary (after leaf 25), the begionning of the hour of the admiration of the holy cross (after leaf 88), the beginning of the hour of the admiration of the holy ghoust (after leaf 95), the beginning of the officium of the death (after leaf 145), and also 3 leaves from the prayers of the interceccion (after 175, 192 and 193). The sheets are all numbered in pencil. Some smal stains, the upper outer corner of the first leaf lacking (no loose of text or image).
