A PAIR OF RELIEFS DEPICTING RIVER GODDESSES.

India, Uttar Pradesh, 6th/7th c. Height 45 und 48 cm.
Buff sandstone fragments of doorjambs, carved as mirror-inverted high reliefs. The river goddess is standing on a lotus pedestal, an attendant beside her holding a parasol. In the upper corner an apsara. Mounted on a stand. (2)
