A VERY IMPORTANT IMPERIAL BRONZE BELL "BOZHONG".

China, Qianlong, dated 1761, height 85 cm. Inscription by emperor Qianlong.
In 1761 eleven archaic bells were found by shepherds in Linjiang and then transferred to the court in Beijing. Emperor Qianlong was very pleased and had a twelfth bell made to complete the set. For more detailed information please refer to our special catalogue.

Qianlong hatte zu jener Zeit gerade Xinjiang unter seine Kontrolle gebracht und interpretierte den Fund als gutes Omen. Deshalb liess er für das Glockenset extra einen Pavilion errichten und verfasste mehrere Gedichte über die Glocken.

御用青銅"鎛鐘"。

中國,乾隆二十六年。高85釐米,鐫刻乾隆皇帝題詞,更多細節詳見特殊目錄。
題詞內容: 臨江牧人掘地得古鐘十一,大吏傳,致闕下。考其制,為周鎛鐘,應十二律而缺其一。爰命內府按次襃成此鐘,用備全律。乾隆二十有六年,歲在辛巳冬十一月御識。
