A LACQUERED WOOD FIGURE OF YAKUSHI NYORAI.

Japan, 17th/18th c. Height (over all) 75 cm, height (figure) 30 cm.
Red, black and gold lacquer, chased metal fittings at base of stand. Eyes inlaid in glass. At the bottom a Buddhist blessing in red lacquer. Minor damage and restorations.

Provenance: Old private collection from Southern Germany.
