German, ca. 1820, Officer, Mounted Huntsman.
Iron hilt, grip cap with flat top; flat, angled knuckle guard; movable guard plate; square, flat quillon. Black wooden grip with a finely carved pattern. Single-edged blade, hollow cuts. Steel scabbard with a central groove, two eyelets for rings, one ring is missing, shoe.
