EXTENDABLE TABLE FEATURING THE COAT-OF-ARMS OF THE "DE SEPIBUS" FAMILY

Baroque, Valais, dated 1687 and inscribed RD DESEPI IONES BWS CM 16 CS 87.
Walnut, carved with rosettes and tendrils, a Christ monogram and the coat-of-arms of the "de Sépibus" family. Rectangular top, extendable on both sides. Iron mounts.
170(216) × 67 × 77 cm.

Losses and signs of use.

The coat-of-arms on the frame belongs to the Sion family "De Sepibus". Iones, probably Johannes de Sépibus, is not mentioned in the historical sources. He may have been a relative of the famous canon, Jean de Sépibus, who died in 1669.
