RARE COMMODE

Régence/Louis XV, Provence, probably by J.B.H. TORO (Jean Bernard Honoré Turreau, Toulon 1672–1731 Toulon), ca. 1720/30.
Walnut, opulently and finely carved with rocailles, scrolled leaves, latticework, shells, and moulded. Curved front with two drawers, the upper drawer carved with birds, the lower drawer with monkeys. Gilt bronze mounts (possibly replaced). 1 key.
92 × 58 × 84 cm.

Minor losses and worming. In nice, restored condition.
