TWO VERY SIMILAR WRITING DESKS AS COUNTERPARTS

Transition style, ca. 1900.
Mahogany, tulipwood and satinwood, inlaid in geometric reserves and fillets. Front with hinged writing surface, one painted with a wintry village scene in the Flemish style, the other with a falconer and a young woman in the Italian style, oil on panel. The writing surface, lined with green felt on the inside, and opening up into two large compartments and two drawers. Opulent bronze mounts. 2 keys.
67 × 36.5 (68) × 120 cm.
