PAIR OF "ETERNAL FLAME" LAMPS
Napoleon III, France ca. 1880.
Bronze, parcel-gilt, and in part patinated copper, as well as light-blue porcelain decorated with gold-colored figures of saints. Conical body, the upper rim set with three angel heads, and suspended from chains. Retracted upper part with an insert for receiving the Eternal Flame (inserts missing). Decorated with leaves and palmettes.
D 39 cm, H 120 cm.
Somewhat incomplete, one upper part requires some repair.
