Provenance:
- Private collection, Bündneroberland (Grisons), until the 1960s in Haus Curschellas, Ilanz
- Originally from Laax, possibly from the de Cabalzar family. According to tradition, French soldiers are said to have tried to open the cupboard (damage to the right-hand door lock) and cut off the nose of an angel (Annual Report of the Rhaetian Museum, 1977)
- Swiss private collection

The Bonadurer were a dynasty of carpenters from Arezen near Ilanz, first mentioned in 1669, whose work can be traced back to the mid-18th century. Their work is of an extraordinarily high quality and "the name Bonadurer may nowadays justifiably be placed at the same level as that of Conradin Colani (an Engadine cabinetmaker)". (Margrit Werder, Rhaetian Museum, 1977)
