HELBARD

Swiss, Berne around 1700. Officers, later Sergeants, Berne, Vaud, Bernese Aargau.
Blade-shaped tip, diamond section, the end consisting of a square decorative node and short baluster shaft, half-moon-shaped blade with convex edge, dots and Swiss cross, open-worked. Beak-shaped hook with rear hook and three perforations. Square parrying spikes. Two langets and shaft bands, the langet end with an engraved coat of arms of the owner, featuring the initials "DS". Original octagonal shaft.
L 188 cm.
