A LARGE MAIOLICA PLATTER
Liguria, Savona, 17th century.
The shape derived from silver forms with relief-decorated rim and well encircling a central stand ring. Painted in blue with a mythological scene in the centre, Neptune and Nereids in a seascape, within a radial arrangement of animal scenes on small landscape strips and plant motifs on the rim. With crown mark.
D 46 cm.
