AN EGGSHELL THREE-CASE INRO.

Japan, 19th c. Height 4,7 cm, Ø 4 cm (netsuke).
Decorated with lilies and butterflies in gold and red lacquer hira- and takamakie, the details in kirikane. A two-piece ryûsa manju stag antler netsuke carved with maple leaves and lacquered ojime.

Provenance: Old Swiss private collection purchased in the 1950s and 1960s in Asia. Thence by descent to the grandchildren.
