LARGE COFFEEPOT

Basel, ca. 1730. Maker's mark Andreas Braun.
Pear-shaped coffeepot on three feet. Fine Régence engraving. Curved wooden handle decorated with carved acanthus leaves and small blossoms.
H 27 cm, 900 g.

Provenance:
- Art dealer Otto Büel, Lucerne.
- by inheritance in the present private collection.

Comparable coffeepots by the Basel goldsmith Andreas Braun (1697-1787) can be found, inter alia, in the Basel Historical Museum, Inv. No. 2009.721 as well as in the Swiss National Museum, Inv. No. LM 62734.
