MANTEL SET,

in the style of Louis XVI, the dial and movement signed DENIERE FT DE BRONZES A PARIS (Jean–François Denière, 1774–1866), Paris, ca. 1865.
Matte and gilt bronze and "Gris St. Anne" marble. Opulently decorated mantel clock on a shaped base with stylised spherical feet. Exquisitely painted, slightly restored enamel dial with hours and minutes in Arabic numerals. Parisian movement striking the 1/2–hour on bell. Vase–shaped candelabra with central shaft and 6 curved light branches with broad drip pans and vase–shaped nozzles, on a shaped round foot with square plinth and spherical feet. Exceptionally fine gilt bronze mounts designed as rosettes, animals, flowers, leaves, cartouches and decorative frieze. Clock 40x20x56 cm. H candelabras 66 cm.
