The region of the marks is with the production sites of Urbino, Casteldurante and Pesaro, one of the maiolica strongholds in the Renaissance. A bowl signed "Andrea da Negroponte" depicting the contest between Apollo and Marsyas is today located in Arezzo (Museo Medioevale e Moderno, Inv. No. 14614). Due to stylistic similarities of the recurring handwriting, a large number of maiolica pieces - partly dated - in public collections can be attributed to him. Cf. Wallace Collection London, Victoria & Albert Museum London, Musei Civici Pesaro and Herzog Anton Ulrich-Museum Braunschweg (see J. Lessmann, Italienische Majolika, Braunschweig 1979, p. 148, cat.102-121).
