MAIOLICA ISTORIATO BOWL "SACRIFICE OF ISAAC",

Urbino, workshop of Patanazzi, c. 1560.
Of concave form, painted on both sides. Depicting Abraham with raised sword at the moment prior to sacrificing his son Isaac, with an angel above, holding the sword of Abraham. The underside profiled, painted with a sea scene with monsters and a fish-riding nymph.
D 21 cm. Foot missing.

Provenance: Important private collection of an Italian aristocrat.
