A SHORT SWORD (WAKIZASHI) WITH DRAGON APPLIQUÉS.

Japan, 20th c. L 33 cm (blade), 49 cm (total).
Tsuka (sword handle) and dragon applications made of wood. Brown lacquered scabbard (saya) with clouds of gold paint, as well as a plastically worked dragon with mother of pearl eyes and wish ball. Matching tate marugata lacquer tsuba with metal surround with engraved nanako ornament.

Somewhat damaged
- Kozuka is missing, as well as a inlaid clound and the pupils
- several scratches on saya
- blade with scratches and corrosion
